MC KEVATIN the COMEDIAN

His official  name is Kelvin Mwangi Thiong’o, but his stage name is Mc Kevatin

We decided to dig deep into his journey as an actor and hypeman.

Many know him from the hilarious COMEDY CLUB SHOW , PREM and MHESHIMIWA.

Little do many of his fans know about his start, struggles and now his greatest success.He takes us through his journey in the industry

I started my acting career in theatre used to do set books in a traveling theatre called MABINGWA PLAYERS THEATRE , then got a chance to act as an extra in local show called MHESHIMIWA used to air in KTN, I was given this character of a ghetto gangster guy, the director liked how I used to pull it out and thought I could be funny and that’s how I found myself in COMEDY CLUB (NTV) and PREM (KTN)

Q2)What are some of the great programs and production houses you've worked with?

I have acted in Comedy Club (NTV), Prem(KTN), Mama Duka (KTN) and now scripting Junoir (KTN)

I have worked with Insignia Kenya, Century Production AND Zebra Production

Q3)What challenges do you encounter as an actor?

The greatest of all is working so hard to be funny in COMEDY CLUB, that was so tough, I had a lot of sessions with my mirror trying to come up with funny faces.

Q6)If you had a chance, what would you change in the industry?

My dream is to be Kenyan Mr Bean, so I would work on silent sketches or rather skits, because that’s what we are missing in Kenyan Comedy

Q7)What should we expect from you this year?

Soo many pilots of comedy shows I wouldn’t want to talk about them right now but when time is right I will.

Who do you look up to ?

Jim carrey is the guy

Yea you guys are doing a good job haha (Laughing)

To those in the industry or getting into it,,,,,,Work hard and try to be different and you have to grow at a pace higher than that of the industry

                 And those aspiring to get into this industry,,,,, its not easy, if you are looking for a simple job then this is the wrong career for you, and if you love it, it loves you back haha

This gentleman is a comedian in a normal setup just like he is on our screens,,,,, I think I forgot to ask  where he's from because he tends to speak almost 5languages (Ain't tribalic though hehehe)
