HipHop Artist and Hypeman MALEEK MENTAL REFORMED!!

Salvation is something that everyone that has undergone it, would tell you,,, salvation  makes you feel at peace, it brings a new perception of life and it is in the same salvation that you may lose so many friends that may not understand why you have to follow that path.

You might be wondering why we are doing so many interviews on this blog,,, the reason is simply to make you relate with your star in the right way,let him inspire you and allow you to know what they go through to be the best idols or maybe stars you see on your screens. They, too undergo the same things as we do,,,we are all human.Today I'm gonna be sharing a very great story about one MALEEK MENTAL.

Q1)Kindly introduce yourself
My artistic names were Maleek back then before I got saved so Currently Just call me MO as I'm still sourcing for a good name hahaha.

Q2)So how has your journey been like in the industry? Well,I took a lot of keen interest in music, learning some few rap skills from listening to hip hop from the west legendary Tupac, Lostboyz, Crossmovement, Notorious B.i.g to be precise and that
triggered my passion for music as it has been my God given talent linked up with many artists but settled on Abbas , Chiwawa & Harry Kimani as my mentors having met them at Sneed Records owned by super producer Dj Loop way back in 2005 & my journey began from there.

Q3)So what have you done before as MALEEK and maybe share with us what you are doing now as MO
Well I have recorded Lewa anthem, Sina beef, Speak, Kenya burning feat Asali Msanii (project for the 2013 campaign & used as message carrier), hands pon di air, but currently all that is left behind as I took a turn to serve the lord & I therefore have the following songs done ; what d’ya see  feat  Sos (skika music),  HELP ft vee, Maisha, Shujaa, Vanity, Heartfelt & gospel coup off my album slated for late this year but my music will be released on a two month interval each with a professionally done video as per my management & label agreement.

Q4)Who have you worked with so far?
I have worked with D-LAB a ministry for the youth, GOFOMI ministries a reknown gospel organization, NEW LIFE HOMES (deals with abandoned babies), Restoration (Western), Vault company (events organizing firm in Nairobi), Sneed music company (Nairobi).

Q5)Any  challenges?
Challenges are quite much given that people focus so much on you & any slight slip people will blog it all over & even try to literally bring you down. Well to error is to human & we cant be perfect but I sure have learned from my mistakes & people’s ideas.
Financial challenges because for you to have quality work done, you have to go the extra mile for it.
When I went public about my salvation a lot of people ridiculed me & even said its my past that’s making me fake salvation but look at me now 5months down the line still growing strong under great guidance from great men & women of God.(no regrets).
Haters for a sure fact will always be there & if not watched & handled with a strong heartthen you are doomed to fail no doubt.

Q6)What would you change in the industry given a chance?
First I would fight for equal musical rights & opportunities for every artist wether upcoming or not as long as the song is up to standard quality, let it be accorded the airplay it deserves.

Q7)What should we expect from the new you?
At the moment am working on gospel album as I had told you before with a very great production house,LAMPSTAND MEDIA, owned by my current Guide & mentor Rufftone, also working on a TV show  Script & it’s on its final stages, feeding the less fortunate babies from my music sales even of my previous songs through downloads & a lot more other stuff.

8.Who are your influences?
Currently I had to shift my focus to a born again mentor & I look up to Rufftone, Rigga, Holy Dave & pastor BDP. I still appreciate all the others who helped me discover the inner musical me though.

Q9)Parting shot?
To all my fans both then and now I sincerely in all humility ask for your forgiveness in any part that I have fallen short of what you expected of me. I am not perfect. All I can promise is to be a better man in my capacity. Secondly God  can change your life for the better only if you let him. Last year saw me have a very rough time, was a frequent ; visitor in the police stations & I got a personal revelation to change my life or else 2014 will be the death of me & God has done a good work In me am grateful.

My advice to the aspiring artists out there is that there is no short cut to music/success. This industry is hard sun you got to be able to stand the heat. Everyday a person is working to better their talent even the greatest ones so to be who you want to be, start working on it now. Money will come in eventually if you put God, patience & hard work first. This industry will surely pay off.
